Hey, I'm Niroop 👋
AI Product Manager by day. Wannabe vibe coder by night. Professional overthinker around the clock.
I studied Computer Science, Pure Mathematics, and Economics at the University of Waterloo — because picking one major is for people who can make decisions, and I needed three degrees' worth of evidence before committing to anything.
Started out as a software engineer — writing backend code at Axon and building iOS SDKs at Cambridge Mobile Telematics. Somewhere between optimizing Kafka retry values and deploying health probes, I realized I cared less about how things were built and more about why. Classic origin story: engineer gets opinions, becomes product manager.
Since then it's been a steady trajectory of "give me something messier to figure out" — from fintech at Oaklane, to AI platforms at Needl.ai and Prodigal (YC S18), to now owning Calling & Voice AI at Wati, serving 15,000+ businesses across 100+ countries. Making machines talk is harder than making engineers agree on an API contract — and that's saying something.
When release cycles get spicy, I lace up and take it out on the pavement. Currently a half-marathon runner training for a full marathon this year — because running is basically product management: start optimistic, hit a wall at kilometer 30, question all your life choices, and somehow cross the finish line wondering why you signed up. Can't wait to do it again.
Currently: Making machines talk at the intersection of AI and voice. Previously: Wrangling consumer finance data, building B2B platforms, and writing code I now review in PRDs. Also: training for a marathon because apparently I enjoy suffering in all areas of life.
